Tuesday the 23rd Spirituality in the Workplace, Barter Exchange I received through the e-mail the information on a conference "Spirituality in the Workplace from Stephen Ginsberg. I got a little excited about it when I noticed that a number of people that I knew were involved, and also that the Royal Bank was involved. I also noted that they were looking for a sponsor for their box lunch program. I called my friend David Cohlmeyer to see if we could arrange lunch for 500 people to be donated. David said that it would be simple. We talked a little how this event could benefit both the event and David’s new venture of financing his new farm. David requires four years of deficit financing in order to prepare the soil properly and most lending institutions do not seem to grasp this time line. Hopefully we can facilitate both the funding arrangements and also the sponsorship of the Box Lunch. I communicated with Dr. Mercieca on this sponsorship and as usual he encouraged. Me. He also suggested that it may not be a bad idea to explore having our North American Conference that is to be held in 1998 in Toronto I had a lengthy conversation with … the organizer for the Conference and she was about to leave to have a coffee with Nadine Lucki and Linda Rossier. I mentioned that I knew them both, and of course Nadine quite well as we have been working together for over three years and reporting to each other on almost a monthly basis and sometimes even more often. I also called her Program Co-ordinator McClellan and he is going to look into the problems that a sponsorship may present. I suggested that the Box lunch we provide would be presented as a teaching. David and I and maybe Howard will look into this after the idea is accepted. I then called Stephen Ginsberg and we agreed to get together for dinner and discuss how we might work on this event together. Went to Club-Web to meet with Simon, James and Julius to discus our program and the front end. Progress made, although the situation at Club-Web is a little strained right now. Norman and I have used this resource but we have not brought enough productive business in and they are hurting. I am trying to get them some much needed equipment, and I committed some $ to them for January 15th if they have my registration page done. I gave the three of them their choice of amber beads with insects embedded in it as Christmas presents. They seemed to appreciate the gesture, and I always enjoy giving away amber. - almost as much as I do giving the 5 pointed stars with a heart in it. Of course I have had more practice with the latter. I then took a subway up to Yorkdale Plaza to meet with Bob Bagga of the Barter Exchange. We had an interesting meeting as it turns out he used to work with Michael Haberman, and I suggested that Michael might be a good customer for him. We talked about the possibility of bartering the tickets to the Millennium Experience, and he is open to that once he sees exactly what the tickets are. I then went on to explore the possibility of buying this company. We will talk more, and I will explore the nature of this with Jeffrey upon our return to Toronto. On the way downtown I picked up an Apple Peeler to give to Veronica for Christmas. Not a very emotional gift, but practical as the household can certainly use it. I also stopped to buy some materials to make a Christmas present for Annika and Veronica. Went to meet Stephen Ginsberg and we decided to build a team together to support the Spirituality in the Workplace Event to make it the best it can be using our mutual friends and resources recognizing of course this is not our event. We would want to use this event to promote the Peace the 21st, the December 31st World Healing Meditation and the website www.homeplanet.org. Things are opening up in the Toronto Community hopefully. On the way home I stopped in and saw the movie Ahmistad. It was a very moving experience even with some gratuitous violence that did not add to the story. The film is however well worth seeing.
