Wednesday the 14th Vancouver to Gabriola

Balu drove me down to the bus terminal early in the morning. A very pleasant trip over to Nanaimo engaged in conversation with a fellow, Raoul Opel and his wife Leanne. I opened conversation because Raoul was wearing a T-shirt with the words Spirit of Service on it. I questioned this because of my recent explorations with the idea of Spirituality in the Workplace. We talked for the whole trip exploring various ideas around spirituality in the workplace. We also discussed the concept of tracking and how tracking in the postal service works. I suggested that it might be a good idea to talk with my friend Bruce Lewis of Tracker Corporation on a method and process that could be very cost effective for the Canada Post Corporation. Raoul seemed interested, but as always, we shall see.

Arriving at the appointed time, Terry Lynn greeted me happily. We toddled around for a bit, having lunch at Rita’s the Mexican Place we like so much and we registered for the Island Internet service. These people are very inefficient. I had to go through the registration process again, even though I had been on their system less than two months ago. Terry Lynn felt I was very rude to the person at the front desk. I have asked this organization on three occasions to consider some level of support, having received zero support - zero feedback - and this is the only internet agency so far in all my travels that has not assisted me. ( these are my excuses for being curt with the attendant) Obviously not the right attitude for a Peacemaker supposedly trying to walk his talk. Have to work on this. We hurried out and over to the Goodwill where we purchased some items of clothing (under $5) - a vest, sweat pants and a towel for me, and a dress and some other items for Terry Lynn - total bill under $25.

We rushed to catch the tender and pick up Brandon who was busy finishing off his school day playing soccer in the rain. The day ended catching up on some calls and drafting some notes to Norman.
