Sunday: the 23rd ROM, Annika, Harbourfront Went with Annika to see Whales at the Royal Ontario Museum. This exhibit was singularly uninspiring. It is hard to imagine why this exhibit exists given the quality of shows to-day. Maybe I am a little jaded having just experienced the shows in Las Vegas, but I do not think so. I was also very disappointed with one other exhibit at the ROM. Ever since I was a child, one of my strong memories of the Museum was the large totem poles there. I wanted to show them to Annika and explain the significance of the poles to her. I was really surprised, and disappointed that there was no story concerning the history of the poles. Each pole is the story of a tribe, a family, or a clan. There was no such information available on these. Rather there was a plaque that indicated some research was being done on the totems. Boy, what a disappointment. Harbourfront was our next destination. It is one of the most wonderful places in all of Toronto. There is always something of interest to see and experience. . And it is free. - Except for the exorbitant parking rates. To-days fare was the Swedish Christmas Fair. We met Inga Ingram who was doing some stitch work that had been handed down to her by her grandmother. We met a friend of Annikas from school - Diane and Emily (Mimi) that were enjoying the fair. Diane and I walked along allowing the girls to explore the fair and the events of the day. It was a pleasant day all in all.
