Wednesday October 1.

Motored down to the hot springs and spent the day soaking in the energy of

the hot springs. As we entered, we asked if we could discuss financial

arrangements. Sigrid, who from Germany introduced us to Scot who is the

manager of the Hot Springs. We asked him to write a letter to Sheila Copps

to inform her that he had done this act of random kindness and to support

our program. Segrid gave us a short interview. We met Vicky who worked at

the snack bar and is from Fort MacMurray / she told us about the

environmental degradation around Fort MacMurray and how great it is where

she is now She had a picture map of the Parks that was for sale. I said

that the is picture should be given away as a promotion piece for the

Parks, and for Canada. instead of the Flag that Sheila Copps gives away.

Vicky said that the Flag was more important than the Parks. I said that I

thought differently. - that the parks are more important than our Flag.she

thought for a moment and said that she might agree with that thought. I

then went out to the springs and soaked. I talked with some more people -

a girls whose name I did not get, and her friend Marie Loo who is married

to a Chinese person. She was German herself, and very beautiful both

inside and out. Her and her friend lived in Jasper. We talked for a bit

about the work I am involved with and we explored some "food for thought"

One thought- we talked about the importance of countries flags - I told her

about my discussion with Vicky and also about the idea of the creating a

ceremony with the flag. Maries first idea was that we burn all the flags

together as a symbol of unity. I posed an alternative suggestion, which,

after pondering makes a great deal of sense. The idea is flag ceremony

related- i.e. the flag ceremony we are doing in Greenwich in the year 2000.

After we finish the first part of the ceremony, we take the flags ((the

flags will all be produced with a water soluble vegetable dye ink) and put

the flags in a cauldron large enough for all 195x3 flags and have them

stirred in the cauldron so the flags all become white flags. Then, the

last part of the ceremony we bring the flags together for the ending prayer

surrounding the Earth Flag. I suggested also that we take the water that

now is symbolically the merged colour of all flags be put in vials and used

as a fund raiser for the 1000 day plan. We also talked about the idea of

how people come to the Parks, and her concern for the future of the parks.

I told her about the idea of the Peace Coin 2000 and how it could be used

both as a promotional idea for the Canadian Parks and also world

citizenship. The result would be a process for creating responsible

visitors to the Park. Parks can handle the volume of people more easily if

the visitors are understanding of the values of world citizenship and the

responsibilities that that implies. The model would work something like

this. The Canadian government sponsor the program. The Peace coin is

available to all who respond to becoming a global citizen and fill out the

World Citizenship Challenge form which will teach about the values relating

to world citizenship. These coins will be redeemed by our 1000 day

program. In short, our 1000 day program will take over responsibility for

funding the program but the kick start will be by the Canadian government

as part of their own 2000 initiative, and the promotion of Canada World

wide. I went back to talk some more with Vicky , just to complete our

conversation, and she was talking with a gentleman from Penticton BC-

Reuben. We talked for a bit and he agreed to an interview. In talking

with Vicky she mentioned that Bill Gates had been there a few weeks

earlier, and rented the whole golf club so he could have a game by himself.

She suggested that I should approach him to support the 1000 day plan. I

said that I thought that Bill's money was a little too illusory for me, but

that I would consider a method of approach. My new found friend Keith, the

NLP practitioner had volunteered to analyse him for an approach just a day

ago. It seems we should give this some thought. After talking a little

more with Reuben, I went to have a shower to get prepared to hit the

road. In the shower room, I met Rebels' son Michael who works in Hinton.

He works in a coal mine and this mine works a unique 24 hour shift routine.

We talked for a bit, and I suggested that our breathing techniques may

help relieve the stress of the changeover from day to night shifts. He

agreed to test the method with some friends at work and if it works, he

will sell it to the company. I asked him to share the revenue from this

experience with our program. He agreed to do so. I was running late, so I

said my farewells and was down to the car in a few minutes. As I got

there, one of the life guards came to remind me I had not paid my bill at

the snack bar. Back for a quick visit with Vicky and paid the bill and

left a friendship Pin. She seemed to appreciate it. Walking back to the

car, I decided to go and visit the natural hot springs just a few minutes

down the road to the left. Did so. Hot as you could imagine. Sulfur smell

as you could imagine. Beautiful setting as you might imagine. Back to the

car and ran in to two of the team support staff for the Springs. Gave

their child a Friendship penny. He seemed to like it. As I went to find

Barbara I met the whole family of Mike and Reuben. Mother Bubbles

(Ruebens' wife and Michael's wife and Kelsi, Michael's daughter. I forget

Michael wife's name, but she is studying with Dr. Steven Aung - small world

eh! After a few words, we were on our way. Lots of people met. Great

conversations. Good time by all.

Finally got on the road by about 4:30 and made a wrong turn ended up at

Mount Robson Ranch. On the way had a good exploratory discussion on

Mind, Emotional Mind and Emotional Body and their inherent relationships.

Expensive night - possible support later. Met Ken Needham the

representative of the Company that just purchased the Resort.

Barbara threw together a great meal and we finally finished Margaret Harts

tomato. It was delicious.

Finished typing for the night and off to bed.
