Peacemaker Message - letter to John Tory October 31 2003

Greetings John Tory:

after you left the meeting at the First Nations Centre last Monday, I asked a question of all the candidates, and unfortunately you had to leave before I asked the question.

I pointed to the painting behind where you had been sitting and I mentioned the story in the Painting - it was a rendition of the First Nations story of the Great Mind - the ideas of the Peacemaker - I explained the painting in simple terms and asked all the candidates if they would bring the idea of the Great Mind to City Council (if elected) , and also to the Police, and to all staff and to include First Nations Protocols at City Hall.

All candidates agreed to do so with only Tom Jacobek making a quid pro quo statement attached to the agreement to bring the discussion of the Great Mind to the City and all its peoples.

I would like to know if we have your agreement on this as well.

Please advise.

I also look forward to explaining to you how the Toronto Dollar works to raise money for the City.

Peace

Mitch Gold

Mayor Candidate

The messages of the Peacemaker are:

1. Practice the Golden Rule: treat others as you wish to be treated
2. Understand the effect of breath on your physical, mental, emotional and spiritual self. Learn at least one breathing technique per year.
3. Stop feeding the warriors: physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually.
4. Honor the sacred in everything.

These messages ought to be taught to all Police, all students, all politicians, all people in Toronto.
