We would like to point out to you that:
The United Nations has has proclaimed 2008 as the International Year of
(Home) Planet Earth, to raise awareness of important issues relating to
the Earth's processes and resources; disaster prevention, reduction
and mitigation; and capacity-building for the sustainable management
of resources.
And that in May 23rd of this year there is a major meeting in NYC on
these issues, and that in July 7, 2007 there will be a meeting in
Toronto to address these issues of social governance, and that we are
positioned well to participate and bring our good offices and the good
offices of the University to these deliberations.
It is our contention that the Indigenous Peoples of Canada have an
entitlement of up to $800 billion dollars (according to Economist Fred
Lazar of York University) and that as Uncle and I will be operating
as Co-Chairs we will be evaluated on how we instigate development
towards the realizing of the amounts said to be outstanding. Money
itself will not be the measuring tool, but rather the quality of life
for the Indigenous Peoples of our country. We do not for one minute
expect to generate $800 billion - but we do expect to raise the
standards, the hopes and the dreams of Indigenous Peoples around the
world as an example of how things might be done in a more effective
way if we but organized humans differently.
We would also like the Committee to be aware that we have opened
discussions with Saul Klein of your University with a view to
developing our Homeplanet MBA program within the context of your own
MBA programs. We are also engaged in discussions with Rotman School
of Management, Ivey School of Business, University of Peace (Costa
Rica) and Columbia University (Teachers College).
We also have entered into discussions with James Millway of the
Institute for Competitiveness and Prosperity with a view to having
their indices measure Aboriginal contribution to Canada's prosperity.
To that end we should like you to be aware that we, through the
"homeplanet" brand anticipate developing relationships worldwide and
we recommend that the Chair be considered an International Chair, and
not a National Chair as this would be a more accurate description of
how we intend to operate.
All my relations,
Mitch Gold

"By a draft on the International Year of Planet Earth, 2008, which the
Committee approved without a vote on 11 November, the Assembly would
declare 2008 the International Year of "HOME" Planet Earth. It would
also designate the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural
Organization (UNESCO) to organize activities to be undertaken during
the Year, in collaboration with UNEP and other relevant United Nations
bodies, the International Union of Geological Sciences and other Earth
sciences societies and groups throughout the world. Also by that
draft, the Assembly would encourage Member States, the United Nations
system and other actors to use the Year to increase awareness of the
importance of Earth sciences in achieving sustainable development and
promoting local, national, regional and international action." (we
inserted the word HOME)
