Proposal to the Vancouver Peace Forum 2006

Warm greetings from Toronto.

I am a Peacemaker. I am a Global Accountant.

I would greatly appreciate being considered for the job being offered.

Your event fits into our own world peace strategy for a Culture of Peace

Combining your activity with our already initiated activities we may be able

to build something well beyond your expectations for a start-from- nothing world initiative.

We need however to begin immediately to inquire as to scheduling and other
events already booked for the time you have allocated in 2006. Specific
timing and event planning need be addressed soon. (yesterday)

Our program to develop a Culture of Peace as presented to the Inaugural
Conference of the Foundation for a Culture of Peace in December of 2000
could be actualized within the context of your 2006 event and even used as
a beginning cultural frame. Our frame is open ended.

http://www.homeplanet.org/hpa_reviews.asp

Our personal international profile, contacts - and program are for you to
consider and to use to serve your program and processes.

To properly present myself in a resume would not really be sufficient.

This job is too important and my role cannot be fully expressed in a two
dimensional or even three dimensional format. My role as an elder in
training requires humbleness and I will leave it to you to review the
documents below to come to some conclusion as to my appropriateness for
this job function. Notwithstanding - I have already begun.

One of my more important roles in life today is Organizer of the First
Nations Indigenous Trust - which would assist your event by utilizing its
good offices to support your event. I would go on sabbatical to accept the
opportunity being offered in
Vancouver - a melding of responsibilities.

However:
As references are required, my resume and references will be integrated into
my presentation.

As primary reference I introduce you to Dr. Charles Mercieca. He is the
Founder of the International Association of Educators for World Peace.
(www.iaewp.org) This organization has members in over 100 countries and
enjoys consultative status at the United Nations as well as being a Peace
Messenger of the United Nations since 1987. We also enjoy status at UNESCO,
UNICEF, UNDPI, UNCED etc. and we are a supporter of the Millennium
Development Goals of the Secretary General, and the United Nations Global
Compact.

Dr. Mercieca supported my presentation to the Government of Navarra.
This presentation is a good read and identifies a great deal of my work
over the past 12 years and is a living resume.

Consider this a reference letter from Dr. Mercieca. If you would like
something more immediate from him, this came yesterday.

Dear Mitchell:

Yes, you are still our Special UN Envoy. This means you may participate at
the UN on special occasions of your choice. In that case, you would need to
inform me, as others do, to ask the UN to give you a pass for that
particular occasion. This procedure is done with all NGOs. You are not on
the yearly list of IAEWP Representatives at the UN which would require
periodical attendance of on-going meetings. Four of these live in the
New
York
area. Keep up the good work.

Charles

and today he sent the following:

Dear Mitchell:

The idea of your getting involved in the Vancouver conference is excellent to say the least. You have great and long experience in organization and in the understanding of social needs both nationally and internationally. Judged by the website you put of the homeplanet, you should be confirmed as the Chairman of the organization of this importance conference.

I would be happy to write any letter of recommendation you want and any time you request. You need to draft this letter for me and I will sign it and have it sent to the entity you would propose. I will add the UN envoy title also to your name. But it will be when the next list would be updated in about six months or so. The list has been already sent to many and it would confuse quite a few to start making changes every few days after the updating. I know from the past that this is not a wise policy.

What we might be doing there? Well, figuring out ways how to make sure that our four major objectives are encouraged to be implemented by other participants, since such objectives are geared toward the universal welfare of all people without exception:

1. Promotion of international understanding and world peace through education.

2. Protection of the environment from air and water pollution.

3. Safeguard of human rights.

4. Disarmament and development of the human resources for positive and constructive purposes.

Yes, I think Terry Paupp, our US National Chancellor would be interested in this Vancouver venture. Feel free to get in touch with him.

It would be wonderful to have Dr. Young Seek Choue of South Korea to be present. But we have to keep in mind that he is now in his late eighties and I heard recently that he was not in excellent health. But it may help a lot if his son, the President of Kyung Hee University may be invited to participate on behalf of his father, in the event his father would not make it. Keep up the good work.

Thanks Charles - it would be appreciated if this were added to your Officers List or where

ever it goes on the Secretariat list as a separate thought.

There is a World Peace Forum taking place in Vancouver in 2006. I would like to know if we could organize an event there for our organization. I believe there will be a support network in Vancouver to assist - I am applying for the job of organizing event.

If you had some thoughts about what we might do there it would be a good thing.

Perhaps we invite Dr. Young Seek Choue to do a Global Cooperation Society meeting there or the IAUP event coincidental?

I will be investigating the resources available in Vancouver, and a recommendation letter from you would be very helpful. I have sent them some of the old recommendation letters, but it is always good to get an up to date sense of where your support lies.

Do you think that Terry Paupp might want to do something?

Looking forward to hearing back.

Peace

Mitch

And here is a recent memo from Mike Whitty of our organization.  With some encouragement he will build our US network to support the Vancouver Event.

IAEWP Colleagues –

1) We are welcome to attend the 7th Global Conference on Nonviolence - www.nonviolenceeducation.org

call 248 594 7596 for details if you plan to attend - we can hold an informal reception for IAEWP if I have enough RSVP's  otherwise, I am actively inviting this global network to attend our AWC/IAEWP program at USF

.

2) lets develop a network for faculty exchanges/visiting appointments on our respective campuses - for example, I will be a visiting professor next year at Seattle University

many of us would not only like to visit your campus/city/region as visiting faculty but also do short visits for talks/workshops/local conferences/events

all this takes is speaker funds on campus or a local church/community group able to raise air fare

3) we are ready for a journal - an electronic journal is affordable, all we need is a good webmaster (& distribution is worldwide with no printing or mailing costs)

Keep Peace in Your Heart.

Warmly.

As additional reference I present myself - or at least a picture of myself,
and a presentation made to the International Peace Research Association
in
Korea (July 2002) IPRA

This presentation outlines the thinking and opportunities behind the
Culture of Peace.

I should also like to introduce to those who are evaluating me for this
job, the program that I will be introducing as part of my functioning.

Program 1:
The Great Mind
http://www.homeplanet.org/torontomind_files/frame.htm
- the Lead page will be changed to identify
Vancouver.

Program 2:
The Culture of Peace Implementation Strategy as presented at the Inaugural
Conference of the Foundation for a Culture of Peace in 2000:

Please review the Madrid Signing Documents at:

http://www.homeplanet.org/june2902/MadridDocumentFinal.htm

This document has been signed by many Peace leaders in the world -
including both Federico Mayor Zaragoza, and Boutros Boutros Ghali. The
program needs funding and support to be fully implemented. The main
problem with the Peace movement is the fragmentation and the inability of
educators to come together on common themes. The Vancouver Event could
reflect - Peace - Common Themes - or Universal Wisdom

Consider these too as my references. If you would like a direct letter
from either - please advise. Turn around time with Boutros is slow lately
as he is now working in a new job and his new secretary does not know me.
As for Federico Mayor, I could get a support letter reasonably quickly I
think, and we likely could get his interest. I should point out The
Foundation for a Culture of Peace however is not funding any Peace projects
actively right now (IMHO) and as reflected in a recent note from Federico.

as further indication of my commitment and skills I introduce you to the
Draft Document of the Indigenous Elders for the Decade of Indigenous
Peoples 1995 - 2004.
http://www.homeplanet.org/draftcover.html

and my introduction to Council when I presented same.

http://www.homeplanet.org/councilgreeting.html

I also want you to be aware of my particular skills with regards to events
production and business.

I negotiated for and was instrumental in developing
Second City in Canada.
I also developed a Sound Studio, and creative production house. Our
activities generated 72 CLEOs (for Advertising excellence) and I was
involved (as a partner) in Television production, Music Production, and
Syndicated Radio Programming companies. I have managed 30 employees (in my
own companies) when I was "in the business world" and I had my own an
accounting practice with 100 corporations and 300 clients. (197-1990)

Since
June 23 1997 I have been struggling my own learning, and with
Education for World Peace. I am likely as knowledgeable as any on the
infrastructure of the World Peace movement, knowing its strengths and
weaknesses. International Peace Bureau (IPB)  Hague Appeal for Peace, (HAP)

etc and I know personally or through e-mail many of the World leaders in the

movement. This includes the numerous organizations
that one would be wise to be have strong concerns about.

From my cursory review of your founding it should be a simple decision to
move forward. for both of us.

Is there a synergy?

There are always benefits and challenges to working together. We have been
looking at how the Peace movement integrates without bias.

I have studied with many masters, and have the confidence of many as they
know my heart. I lead ceremonies from time to time with the sacred Unity
Drum of the White Buffalo Calf Prophecy and Legend.

To work together we would have to agree to disagree on one item.

We think the most important number is ONE.
We think the most important number is 6.3 billion.

Can both statements be correct?

We say yes.

This is the dichotomy of the Peace movement. Old logic does not work.

Both numbers are the most important. But one needs to understand why.
This is PO. (for more PO see the Great Mind) The Peace
Opportunity. To
understand a new logic beyond the yes/no, up/down, on/off paradigm.

Of course one could argue that Zero is more important than both - While we
can agree, it would only come after a full understanding of how 1 and 6.3
billion relate to zero. The ultimate point is that all are important. But
for the Peace movement we need to understand 6.3 billion. This is my
opinion and relates to the understanding that our work only has value if we
are working for all. If we are working for any less, or for ourselves only
- then we are destined to fail.

We look forward to learning more of your specific longer term objectives,
and how we might work together for Peace.

I am prepared to come to
Vancouver immediately to meet with your Board and
to work with it to develop a common vision for the success of the event
from all the ideas and information that you have collected from the
community. Only if we share a common vision will we be successful.
(Freire)

Everything else will provide obstacles and learning experiences. The peace
movement does not need more learning experiences. We need to actualize
what we know and share it with the greatest number of people in the
shortest time.

To that end we have developed a strategy for a mass media campaign on these
issues. Your event could well play a role and share in our Mass media
Campaign by giving a focal point for coming together in a good way.

Who do we bring together? - frankly it depends on your vision, the vision
of the Community, what ideas have come forth from the community and your
budget.

Lets develop these fully before we agree to proceed. and let's move quickly
if 2006 is going to be successful as a kick-off to your new peace
initiative.

Many blessings even if you choose some one else. I am here to serve.

I trust that I have not overloaded you with "stuff".

P.S. My needs to come to
Vancouver and explore a two month evaluation
process would be:
return airfare, food and accommodation for two months, and some level of fee
that you feel comfortable with. It would be wise to agree in advance as
well as to fee for service after successful probationary period. I leave
that up to you to value what I bring. I bring the UNity Drum! and the
Heart of
Africa.

P.S. 2   I am currently editing some video footage of Boutros Ghali and
myself, and Chief Leonard Crow Dog indicating their support for my
philosophy and program.

P.S.3 . a recent letter :

Connection with the TIKKUN Community

Greetings Rabbi:

I have not heard from you lately and I wonder if you have had a change of mind of working together.

I had postulated that we work through the techniques of the Integrated approach - but it seems from the feedback I get, is that we need to take a course first. Frankly I do not have the time to take another course right now, and I imagine that you are of a similar mind.

So we might look at another process, or alternatively have you contact Ken and suggest that you want to talk with him since you are on his list of people that are apparently supporting his integrated model. I believe this may be a sensible starting point - and when you get in conversation with him, you invite me into the conversation. Then we might be able to determine in a practical manner what role Ken WIlber will be playing in our coming together.

As a separate thought, I want to make you aware that in 2006 there will be a major Peace Forum taking place in Vancouver. I am applying for the "job" of organizing it, and would welcome a suggestion letter written by you to me identifying a plan to have an event as part of the Forum - you might consider a one hour presentation - a day event for the Tikkun community, or a teaching day of the philosophy of peace you are expressing and identifying for peacemakers, your perspectives on how peace might be achieved in the Israel Palestine area, and perhaps identify a metaphor as to why the Middle East drives the world "peace" instability.

IMHO we will have peace nowhere until we have Peace in Jerusalem - I do not know if you agree with that observation, but Sole Wolenka and a number of others who were at the Inaugural meeting for The Foundation of a Culture of Peace in Madrid - namely Federico Mayor, Wole Solenka, and myself agreed on a principle that seems to not be on the discussion table anywhere. and that is to have Jerusalem under the jurisdiction of a Council of Elders - from around the world that will make the decisions and organize the city in a manner that will serve all humans and eliminate the bickering that is causing the world to be in a state of turmoil and fear.

I apologize for rambling as this was intended to be a quick note and it seems to have become lengthy.

Please respond as you feel moved to do.

Peace, Shalom,
